As if the classic Arnold Palmer couldn’t get any better, Chick-fil-a added the flavor of white peaches this summer – Peach Tea Lemonade. After hooking me in with a sample, I found myself sitting in the drive-thru lane, almost daily, with no recollection of how I got there. The combination of tea, lemonade, and peaches was nothing short of magical. AND completely addictive. AND kind of expensive at $3 an ice-filled cup.
But all good addictions must come to an end, my friend. With pumpkin spice lattes looming on the fall horizon, Chick-fil-a ended their “Peachy Summer” promotion, and Peach Tea Lemonade vanished without notice.
Knowing this curtain call was inevitable, I found out how the magical drink was made in the Chick-fil-a kitchens. Everyone that works there is so darn nice, I DID feel a bit guilty getting an unsuspecting young man to tell me the ingredients. But the guilt didn’t last long. I HAD the recipe! And it was SO flipping easy, I was a bit insulted that I paid $3 for such a simple drink.
So, if you loved Chick-fil-a’s Peach Tea Lemonade and WISH you could have the magical elixir year-round, I TOTALLY got you, my friend! ONE secret, special ingredient, and you are on your way to a “Never-Ending-Peachy-Summer” year-round. Bam!
Let’s Do This: Peach Tea Lemonade!
Make your Arnold Palmer – 1/2 tea, 1/2 lemonade
**PLEASE use good quality lemonade, either made from scratch with REAL lemons and sugar (or stevia) or a quality frozen lemonade. Do NOT use instant lemonade drink mix. Just don’t, dude. It’s not right. I don’t even think there is a drop of real lemon in that powdery mess.
Same goes for the tea. Use brewed black tea – like, the kind of tea bags you use for sun tea. I have tried this with herbal tea, and seriously – it tastes herbal. It doesn’t work. If you want true tea flavor (like our favorite fast-food chicken place), use a black tea. Save the herbal stuff for your yoga retreat and detox.
ADD….1 – 2 Tablespoons (depending on the size of your Arnold Palmer) Monin White Peach Syrup. Stir it into your tea-lemonade. This is the magical fairy dust! This is the missing key to the Peach Tea Lemonade vault! It is the ONE ingredient you need to transform your basic Arnold Palmer into pure peachy bliss. I know, right?! You thought someone was peeling, cooking, pureeing, and straining peaches in the back corner of Chick-fil-a. Nope. Just crackin’ open a bottle of White Peach Syrup, my friends. Brilliantly simple.
I ordered TWO bottles immediately after my friendly, unsuspecting Chick-fil-a server showed me the Monin bottle. You need to search your heart and order what feels appropriate for you and your addiction.
Oh my, such a long post for such a simple drink. Three ingredients, so ridiculously simple, so amazingly tasty. It’s not just a summer drink – I love to have something icey cold EVERY day! You get thirsty year-round, right?! Whoever said that lemonade and ice tea were just for summer…..was living a shallow life. Wear white in January, use your grill in a snowstorm, and drink lemonade year-round!
